Avast is a highly-rated antivirus program. If you are a home user then you can
download Avast's home version for free. You must obtain a license for the
product but that license is FREE! Many of our customers have chosen this free
program to protect their investments. You will need to register it. The
registration page is
located here. When Avast reminds you to re-register your product please DO
SO AT ONCE; the product is free but will not work without re-registering it. In
order to protect their investment they require you to periodically re-register
the product.

been to the zoo and seen the Pandas. Cute. Pandasoft brings us great protection
for a reasonable price. I mention this on our website because "Pandasoft" just
doesn't sound like much. It is currently the virus protection we use on our
workstations. Priced about the same as most other antivirus solutions, I find it
the best protection for us at the moment.

Microsoft's
Windows© Defender BETA 2 performs the job of
cleaning and protecting from most spyware. I have been using this beta for
nearly a year and nearly all spyware is defeated by it.
In order to install this software you must have a valid installation of Windows XP service pack 2. There's no point of downloading it without service pack 2 installed.

Spybot
cleans over 40,000 spyware variants. It also has a "teatimer" which can
protect you from incoming spyware. This is a great tool that we have been using
for over a year with good results.

Adaware.
One of the longest standing programs available to clean and protect from spyware.
This program originally was free but now has a price tag. That's fine. It's well
worth the few bucks it costs.

ZoneAlarm.
This is a free firewall (non-business use only) that performs well. For a few
dollars you can have a whole suite of protection with Zone Alarm's full-featured
products.
